French company vidIP announces the launch of the new vidIP Accelerated File Transfer solution
Friday, 04 September 2009 10:49
The vidIP Accelerated File Transfer system can be used across any type of IP network (ADSL, SDSL, fiber and satellite) and allows AV professionals to minimize their operating costs through an accelerated video file transfer solution that uses the vidIP consumer IP link or VPN aggregation process.
Thanks to vidIP Accelerated File Transfer, users looking to exchange large files (such as videos) can now use several consumer Internet lines to slash transfer times. For example, transferring a 2-min DV-25 video file (400 MB) takes around 55 min with a conventional broadband line (1 Mbps), whereas it only takes 18 min with three 1 Mbps broadband lines aggregated with vidIP AFT.
vidIP AFT supports any file format (video and so on), guaranteeing file delivery and integrity.
Furthermore, vidIP AFT uses the entire available bandwidth and is immune to the effects of latency and packet loss, unlike traditional transfer protocols, such as FTP, HTTP and CIFS.
vidIP AFT enables several networked sites to exchange content.
vidIP Accelerated File Transfer is very easy to use: files are simply transferred by dragging and dropping:
• Senders deposit their files on a local network drive
• Accelerated file transfers are 100% automatic and executed as a background task
• Users receive email notification that a file has arrived
• Recipients retrieve the file from a local network drive
vidIP solutions:
Acting as true integrated network gateways, vidIP solutions guarantee AV professionals a video transport solution irrespective of the medium used, namely IP fiber as well as DSL thanks to the GatherlinkTM technology.
In addition to transport over very high-speed IP networks, such as over operators' fiber backbones, vidIP's proprietary GatherlinkTM technology supports combined standard IP connections to create a virtual link offering high quality of service, including over public Internet networks.
Thanks to aggregated links, the GatherlinkTM technology outstrips the xDSL upload bandwidth limit and achieves speeds compatible with the requirements of professional quality video (typically 6 to 15 Mbps).
This reduces costs over traditional video transport solutions and allows for professional video transmissions between sites by breaking down the technical and economic barriers that previously stood in the way.
The vidIP line-up divides into 3 product families:
CDS-120: SDI video broadcasting solution
vidIP's CDS-120 is a broadcast-quality MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 ASP solution for handling video contribution and transport, creating cost-effective backup links, etc.
TSS-120: Compressed ASI transport solution
vidIP's TSS-120 provides a groundbreaking solution for transport stream adaptation and transport over any type of IP network, including the Internet.
IPI-120: IP video stream routing solution
vidIP's IPI-120 provides a powerful and flexible video-over-IP toolbox for handling stream duplication, routing, transport format allocation and QoS enhancement.
